eGiving FAQ
Have a question? See if it is answered in the FAQ below.
1.) Can I specify which account my donation will go to?
When you give online, you’ll see accounts for each area of giving including the General Fund and the Ed Freepon's Scholarship Program. For your tithes and offerings, choose the General Fund. For a gift towards the Scholarship fund or any of the other ministries listed, select the appropriate fund from the menu.
2.) I clicked the “eGiving” button and nothing happens.
When you click eGiving, a new browser window is opened. If you’re using a pop-up blocker, the window
won’t open. Most browsers will allow you to permit pop-ups from a specific website. In order to use the
eGiving area, you will need to allow pop-ups from cppc.us.
3.) Can I schedule recurring donations?
Yes, you can specify whether you want your contribution made once, weekly, twice per month or monthly. You can set up as many scheduled contributions as you would like to several different funds.
4.) Will I still receive a contribution statement?
Yes, you will still receive your year end contribution statement as always, and it will include both your online giving and any checks you have placed in the offering plate.
5.) What if I change banks or want to adjust the date or amount of a contribution?
You can edit or delete or pause a scheduled contribution at any time including the bank routing number, account number, date, fund, frequency and amount. These changes can only be made if you previously set up an eGive account with a user name and password.
6.) Is online giving secure?
We’ve taken steps to ensure that the giving process is safe and secure from beginning to end. All of your giving data is secured by SSL encryption. SSL is an acronym for “Secure Socket Layer,” a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. It is the same technology used by banks and e-commerce companies such as Amazon.com to keep your information safe and secure during transactions.
7.) I received an email stating that my contribution didn’t go through. What do I do?
When transactions don’t go through, it is usually because of a typo. So try it again and double-check your routing and account numbers. Please do not include the check number in your account number and make sure all required fields are completed.
8.) Can I give tithes and offerings with a credit card?
The simple answer is, "yes, you can." However, please only use this convenience if you are in a position financially, where you can pay it off without incurring significant financial charges or interest. We want to make giving as easy as possible, but we do not want anyone making a gift that will result in them paying even more to the credit card companies. Please also understand, as with any business, the church also loses both a transaction fee and a percentage of the total (usually 2-3%) on all credit card transactions. Please remember that because credit cards have expiration dates, you will need to update your credit card information each time it expires.
